My favorite Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Snubs

Our Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced the 2015 nominees, and I am disappointed.

I am a big fan of Green Day, NWA and Nine Inch Nails, but I am not sure if they are deserving of this "prestigious" award.

I do think Joan Jett deserves the nod, and Lou Reed should have been inducted prior to his death last year. But good god!?! Sting!!! STING!?! Get real. His "rock and roll card" should have been revoked when he started wearing yoga pants and walking through fields of gold!

The following people are far more deserving and should have been inducted long ago.

1 - Deep Purple

Come on!!! If you have ever picked up a guitar, the first song you would have learned would have been "Smoke on the Water". For that alone, they deserve the nod.

2- Duran Duran

The MTV we love and miss would not have existed without their videos. If Madonna is in for her pageantry, then Duran Duran deserve to be in for how they revolutionized how we watch music.

3- Jimmy Buffett

There is no one else like him. He can turn a bunch of stiff, uppity white collar workers into a drunken idiots in less than 3 chords.

4- Chicago

Arguably the greatest horn section in Rock and Roll is not in the Hall of Fame.

5- Willie Nelson

A true Outlaw of the recording industry. He has always played by his rules. He's written some of the greatest American songs ever. Willie and his pigtails are deserving of Hall of Fame honors.

6- Dick Dale

King of Surf Guitar.

7- The Commodores

Seriously. This selection should be as easy as Sunday Morning.

8- Judas Priest

If you don't think they deserve to be in the hall...then you got another thing comin!

9- Stevie Ray Vaughn

One of the greatest guitarists of all time. He made David Bowie's Let's Dance great. Plus, no one covers Jimi Hendrix like Stevie.

10- Motorhead

Because Lemmy is God.

11- Cheap Trick

Hit makers. Fun band. Goofy looking guys. They still tour. I want the rock hall...to want...Cheap Trick!

12- Joan Jett & the Blackhearts

GRRRL Power, way before it was cool.

13- DEVO

My first real music memory was seeing "are we not men...we are DEVO." I have not been right in the head since.

14- Yes

You'll let all these disco clowns into the Rock Hall, but not quality rock bands? Why doesn't the Rock Hall like prog-rock?

15- Iron Maiden

Bruce Dickenson has one of the most dramatic voices in music. Steve Harris may be one of the best bassist in rock. Their song writing is epic. The head of Eddie needs to have his own wing in the hall.

16- The Cars

I always had a hard time understanding the Cars. Are they Classic Rock? Or are they the godfathers of New Wave? They did both equally well. Rick Ocasek is an amazing songwriter.

17- Slayer

The greatest thrash metal band ever. Fast. Loud. Fierce. Beautiful.

18- Joe Cocker

Can Joe get a little help from his friends to get in the damn Hall? The guy played Woodstock, was immortalized by John Belushi, has a voice all his own.

19- Tina Turner

Tina is in the Hall of Fame with Ike and Tina Turner. But she deserves to stand on her own, like the independent woman she been for all these years.

20- The Specials

A message to you Rudy: They are the Godfathers of Ska.

Bonus- Weird Al Yankovic

Because the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame needs to take itself a little less seriously.

Others in consideration: New York Dolls, The B-52s, Billy Idol, Pat Benetar, Black Flag, The Cure, Los Lobos, Sonic Youth, Tom Jones, Iggy Pop, Fugazi, Bad Brains, Motley Crue, Steve Miller Band
